Change. The inevitable word. I think I can speak for most of humanity when I say change sucks. As humans, we are wired on schedules and routines. When out of nowhere something hits us out of our routine, it throws us off course. But as time goes on, we adapt. What is new will soon be old. What is exciting will soon be dull. Change is what makes life cool. Always look for ways to evolve. Have a little faith in your changes. How many times has a sticky situation turned out to be the best thing that could have happened? Imagine if we were not given the ability to change. How would your life look? Try and appreciate the changes in your life. Sometimes it is overwhelming. You lose a job unexpectedly or you move towns your senior year.
Change is hard and confusing. You have probably asked yourself in a time of change, “Why me?” Well, the answer is simple. When God wants you to grow, He might uproot you. It might feel like He picked you up and dropped you on another planet. If you think you can become fully grown by doing the same things over and over again, you are wrong. Life is a river, and there are many paths. Sometimes it is rapid; other times it is serene. Embrace the waters. When God sends you waves, just go with it. Do not try and fight the storm. Simply just float on it. Whatever is meant to happen in your life will happen. If something erupts in your life that causes panic, breathe deeply and thank the Lord. Repeat to yourself, “I am an adaptive human.” Whatever the change is, you can overcome it.
You do not want to go through life being the same person forever. Accept the chance to grow. It is easy to become used to your life. This is why we should embrace the change. Life would be so boring without it. Negative and positive change is beneficial to us. Is it too cliché to say when one door closes another one opens? Probably, but this statement holds so much truth. Things almost never go as planned. If you have a go with the flow state of mind, you will always come out on top. I get that it is easier said than done. Some of us are more uptight than others. I encourage you to just take a deep breath and tell yourself it is alright. Do not panic. Life is a journey. We all experience changes that shake us, but we have two choices. You can freak out, or you can embrace. Take it and run with it. You never know what good will come out of one simple change. You have the ability to transform the change God has so graciously given to you. Do not turn away from it. Do not shy from it. Do not be afraid of a different scene. You just might enjoy what you see.
