Even Gigi Hadid Deals With Body Issues

For those of you who don't know my woman crush, Gigi Hadid is a supermodel with a great personality and she's an all around perfect human who I admire immensely. This is an interview she did back in 2013, just to paint a picture about who she is.

She's personable. She's honest. She's approachable. She's powerful and confident.

Her Instagram is filled from past runway experiences from the recent fashion week shows she was apart of, the endless magazine covers she has been asked to do and pictures with loving captions about her family and BFF's such as Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner. She has been the face of Guess, Express, Victoria's Secret Pink and Sport's Illustrated.

I believe that she's risen to fame because not only is she gorgeous, but she has the personality to boot. She's personable, funny and a genuine person. She has that "it" factor.

Recently Gigi Hadid posted a picture on Instagram of just words that really shocked me:

I read this and was deeply puzzled. How could anyone that my friends and I perceive to be so beautiful be bullied? How can people bully someone they don't even know on the internet?

It's sad that people have nothing better to do with there time than comment on celebrities' Instagrams and crowd it with negativity. Body shaming is unfortunately an all too real reality. People are often too quick to judge someone's body, I know I have been guilty a time or two. They're too skinny so they must be not eating or they're not skinny enough so they should be going to the UREC more often, we've heard it all. We have no idea what other people are going through or what their story is. The words people utter and type have an effect on people. In today's world where all is takes is two seconds to affect someone, it's important now more than ever to really think about what you say and how it may affect someone.

Whether you perceive a person as skinny, fat, athletic, sexy, what have you, everyone has a flaw. Everyone has something that bothers them about their body. What's really unfortunate is that the in modeling industry, your income is based upon your physical appearance and is under constant scrutiny. Your income is based upon your physique. Famous model's such as Cara Delevingne have up and quit the industry because it made them too self conscious. It also goes to show you, that no one is perfect or think's they are. It's such a cliche, but we really should be building up each other and supporting each other, not cutting one another down to feel better about ourselves.

If even Gigi isn't completely content with her body, I think it just goes to show that people can't always see what you see about your body either. Something that your so embarrassed or worried about it probably something people don't even notice because the people in your life that matter are usually too busy noticing all the things that make you great!

I think that this Instagram post definitely was supposed to help show girls that you don't have to listen to people or let them defy you. Speaking from someone who has definitely let the words of her bullies affect her eating habits, I can promise you that what they say isn't true. You are more than a number on a scale or the judgements of people who are unhappy with themselves. Life is too short to be worried about what petty people say. Be bright, be bold, keep being your beautiful self.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
