6 Reasons To Download Eve: The Best Women's Health App Ever

Women’s health is a taboo topic in today’s society. Menstruation is treated like a big secret that women have to keep to themselves. Even commercials for pads and tampons tend to be shy about the subject. We all know about the infamous blue liquid, poured ever so delicately onto a super-absorbent pad.

But, when I discovered the Eve app, the way I thought about women’s health changed. This isn’t a normal period tracking app. This app provides community where women can come together and learn from the first-hand experience of other women. Eve includes a multitude of features, but I am going to list my favorite things about this awesome app.

1. Cycle Scope

Eve’s main function is period tracking, but it goes even further than that. Not only do you know what day of your cycle you are on, the “cycle scope” feature gives you insights about each day. It uses common patterns of the menstrual cycle to explain any aches, mood swings, or other symptoms you may be suffering from that day. In my experience, these predictions have been accurate nearly every time.

2. Daily Quizzes

Eve offers you a different quiz every day. You can test how well you know different aspects of women’s health and learn the correct answers to things you may not know. The quizzes range from fun and silly to more serious topics such as consent.

3. Woman Crush

Every day you can learn about a different influential woman with the “woman crush” feature. This is one of my favorite people because not only bring to light to strong female figures that may be unknown or forgotten, but it encourages women that they too can make a difference. It’s so inspiring to have a strong role model in women such as myself.

4. Community

There are several boards for women to post questions, stories, and polls. Members can leave comments answering questions or sharing similar experiences. You can communicate with other women and start a conversation about anything and everything. I’ve seen posts about pregnancy, relationships, even asking for opinions on prom dresses. Eve provides an amazing online community for women to be open and feel accepted.

5. Information on forms of contraceptive

Have you ever wondered which form of birth control is the right one for you? Eve provides information on almost any form of birth control you can think of. The list includes contraceptives I’d never even heard of before downloading this app. There is information on everything from abstinence to “the sponge” (look it up). Eve gives the pros and cons on each form of birth control and a short explanation on how it works, very helpful when picking a contraceptive.

6. Daily Log

The daily log allows you to track patterns in your cycle and view your cycle history in a whole new way. It gives explanations for certain symptoms and lets you review past periods and ovulation. This way, you can have a better understanding of your cycle and fertility.

I wouldn’t recommend this app if I didn’t believe in it wholeheartedly. I love the different features it provides and everything the app stands for. Eve is truly paving the way to women becoming more comfortable with their bodies and helping them understand its needs. All in all, I’d give Eve two thumbs up. Every woman needs this app.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
