When I think of the state of Europe right now, I immediately think of what has been going on recently. The continent of Europe is welcoming refugees from the Middle East. Morally wise, this is the right thing to do because the innocent refugees are taking shelter from ISIS, who is destroying their countries. This wouldn’t be a problem at all if ISIS members weren’t blending in to go to these countries. This past year, ISIS has been doing nothing, but now starting to destroy European civilizations. Ever since their notorious attack in Paris last November, the attacks by ISIS have been much more frequent this year, especially in France and Germany. What is ironic is that the presidents of these countries are saying that they’re doing something to protect their citizens and track down ISIS members. But, look what has happened these past few weeks.
- June 28th: Shootings and suicide bombs in Turkey (I almost lost my aunt in that attack by the way)
- July 14th: The Bastille Day attack that had a truck killing 84 citizens
- July 18th: The train to Wurzburg where a terrorist stabbed people
- July 22nd: The shooting in Munich that killed 10 people
- July 24th: Suicide bomb in Ansbach that miraculously didn’t kill anyone, besides the terrorist
- July 26th: Two Muslims beheaded a priest in Normandy
Not to mention the car bombing in Turkey in January and the airport/metro bombing in Belgium in March.
Telling from these frequent attacks, it sounds like little to no change is happening to protect European citizens. That’s why I’m saying: Europe, do something about ISIS. Yes, we need to keep the good refugees in Europe. That’s why they’re here in the first place. But, the European leaders need to do more. They need to add security in the borders, and do background checks and investigations on the refugees. How do we know that Europe needs to tighten up the security? After the Paris attack last year, one of the terrorists actually got through Germany with a guard just letting him go, even though a picture of that terrorist was right there! Who knows how many terrorists past through the gates undetected every day? There should also be as much as security guards as they can have on the streets. That way, when an attack begins, they would be right there to try to defeat the terrorists involved. It doesn’t matter how the European leaders protect their countries, they need to do something.
When these attacks happen, people say “When Will This End?” and “Pray for (country)!” on Twitter and Facebook. Enough of these statements! This will all end when European leaders work harder to protect their people and the good refugees from ISIS and track them down to prevent more attacks. That’s what we need to pray for: strong leadership, plus peace on earth.
