If you're also like me, then you're on a tight budget and can't afford expensive mini vacations whenever you so please. So grab a couple of your closest friends, chip-in for gas money, and explore the five best places to escape school without breaking the bank!
1. Providence Canyon State Park.
Georgia's "little grand canyon" is only a two and a half hour drive from campus and promises to take your breath away. With 10+ hiking trails, picnicking, campsites, and a great source of beautiful pictures, this road trip is sure to leave you refreshed. Jacksonville is one of Florida's most vibrant and welcoming cities and is only a two and a half hour drive from campus! You can make is a day trip or rent an Airbnb with a couple of friends for the mini vacation you all have been needing!
3. Alligator Point, Florida.

4. Thomasville, Georgia.
Take a fifty-minute drive to Thomasville, Georgia where you will be charmed with their dining experience, endless shopping, and historic attractions. If you're looking for a great place to serve as a beautiful background for photos, make sure to visit the Thomasville Rose Garden and Cherokee Lake Park where a variety of over 1,500 rose bushes bloom each Spring!

Located right on the Gulf of Mexico and only an hour away from campus, St. Mark's National Wildlife Refugee is a great place to take a break from the hustle of class and instead enjoy the natural beauty the Refugee has to offer. With countless photo opportunities, hiking trails, and beautiful creatures, this is a great destination when you're in need of peace.
