College is so scary. Not everyone admits it, but no one has any idea what they're getting themselves into. However, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience life like you never have before, and make lifelong memories. Just don't forget to lose yourself along the way!
Stay true to yourself!
No matter what your personality or social status was in high school, college is the absolute best time to truly be yourself. Don't try and reinvent yourself to impress anyone, but instead embrace your personality and be yourself as enthusiastically and passionately as you can!
Always say yes to adventures!
This is the absolute best time to experience all of the things you've always wanted to, but never have! Travel! Eat crazy foods! Go on crazy night hikes! Say yes to adventures that you might not have said yes to in high school! I can't emphasize how precious these four years are. Never again will you see so many opportunities to explore new hobbies, try new things, and discover yourself. Take advantage!!!
Do what you're passionate about!
No matter your major, no matter the degree your parents want you to have, make sure to find what you're passionate about and do it! You may not find this right away, but once you do, hold on to that passion and never let it go!
Don't be cliquey
The absolute best part about college is how many people there are that you can be friends with! Don't limit yourself to only hanging out with one group of friends. Expand your horizons, make plans with other groups on campus, join new groups, and don't exclude anyone! You never know who may become your best friend.
It's not about finding your significant other
If you do, great! That's freakin awesome! But if you don't, that's awesome too! I can tell you one thing for sure, it's rare to find someone to spend your life with when you are adamantly searching for it. All your friends are in relationships? Take advantage of the time to explore, dedicate yourself to your passions, find yourself, and who knows maybe you'll meet someone along the way!
It's all about self confidence! Everyone else is just as nervous as you are! Be confident and believe in yourself, and everyone else will too! Most importantly, embrace every experience and have fun!
