Pumpkins, leaves changing colors, sweatshirt weather, and bonfires are all things you look forward to come fall time...
If you live somewhere where the weather actually changes. Having grown up in the midwestern part of the United States, moving to Florida was a big deal. It had some great trade offs, I mean endless days at the beach, being able to play tennis all year around, and not having to shovel snow. But the one thing I miss more than anything are those crisp fall days.
I've come to the realization that making sure you get a good dose of fall in Florida is pretty hard, but here are a few steps to make it feel as much like fall as possible, at least inside your home in the Sunshine State.
1. Buy fall candles
Get at least 3 fall candles that you can light when relaxing in your home. My favorite smells happen to be smoked caramel, apple pie, and flannel. Candles make your home cozy, and these falls scents will be sure to bring fall inside your home.
2. Decorate with fall decor!
Get out your coziest blankets, put up your fall wreaths and your halloween decor. This makes your home feel even more like you aren't in the 90 degree weather in Florida,
3. Find things around your community that are fall themed.
Here in Tampa there are a few fall festivals. Make sure to attend them, take pictures and buy pumpkins, which brings me to number 4.
4. Find pumpkins and carve them!
Make a pumpkin carving party with your friends! Drink some apple cider while your candles are burning and carve those pumpkins!
The weather might not be crisp, and you might not be wearing sweaters, but at least you can make your home feel like the fall in Florida! Just follow those 4 steps to make sure that if you're like me and you miss the fall of the midwest you can get a taste of it right here in Florida.
Happy Fall Ya'll!
