Don't get me wrong, I love summer vacation and having a chance to spend time with friends and family but I also enjoy the season of school!
Fall is my all time favorite season because that is when my birthday falls so I already love September/October alone. Going back to school is my favorite because it means I get to see all of my friends again on a regular basis. This is not to say that I don't spend time with them over the summer, but as I have gotten older, we seem to drift away during our free time. Especially now that I am in college. Many of my friends come from around the state or even the country and with work and other commitments it is hard to take the time or money to go and visit.
I see going back to school as a fresh start. It's a chance to get a new outfit or two to show off and it's a chance to reorganize my life. At the end of every semester I have noticed that I get dragged down because of the constant work and the need to remember everything for mid terms and finals. I love learning too but sometimes towards the end it is like there is so much expected from me, its hard to articulate it in a way my professor can understand it.
In the past I used to hope for the same teachers or professors so that I would have to adjust to someone new. I'm a quiet person and don't adjust to people as quickly as others do so I like when someone already knows how I function. While that is true now too, I am now open to more change. I look forward to getting to know new professors and how they can help me achieve my goals. Going to a small school means that I could have the same professor multiple times during the same semester. I know many of you are groaning but it's helpful to me. I can draw more connections from my lessons and how I can use them when I get out of school.
It's not that I hate summer, its more like i enjoy the structure feeling that school gives. I hope that this shows I'm not a complete nerd!
