End Of Semester Told By 'Friends'

Finals are coming and you aren't ready, are you?

The end of the semester is getting close... so close that if it's over 60 degrees you put shorts on because that means summer is right around the corner. However, before you can have the sweet freedom of summer, you need to survive finals. This is generally how it all goes....

1. Classes Are Ending

This is the pure excitement that the class you dreaded going to all semester is about to be over and you will never have to return again. The end is getting close and you are so excited thinking about all the fun you're going to have this summer.

2. You Realize That Finals Are Next Week

This is more of a general disappointment than anything else. Just because you know that finals are next week doesn't actually mean that you're going to take notes from the textbooks you neglected to use all semester. It's just upsetting to know that you have to sit there for hours taking a test before you can leave.

3. You Acknowledge That You Should Be Studying But You Have Better Things To Do

You just generally avoid anything related to school work and focus on the last week of your social life with friends. You're not going to be with these people two weeks from now, so you might as well have some fun. Right?

4. You Check Your Grades To See How Low Of A Score You Can Get And Still Pass

After looking, you wish that you had never checked. You're grades are not high enough for you to bomb the final which now means that you are going to have to try and pass.... even worse, you need to study.

5. You Go Into Denial That Finals Are Actually Happening

You revert back to being a child when you had no responsibilities other than coloring inside the lines, because finals and college are too grown up for you to handle right now in this fragile state. You pretend that finals do not exist but you know very well that they are coming for you.

6. Stress

You now begin stressing that finals are less than three days away and you have yet to start studying. The stress causes you to freak out at anyone you speak to because you do not think that anyone else has it as bad as you do. Although everyone is equally as stressed and panicked about passing finals as you are.

7. Heading To The Library In The Attempt To Study

Maybe being in the library will help you focus and get work done.... Maybe you'll learn a thing or two... Then again, maybe not. Congratulations for making your way to an academic building, but you need to open the textbook in order to learn something. Sitting in the library will not magically grant you the knowledge you wish it would. So you sit and stare at the wall accepting that this is what life has come to.

8. Eating To Comfort Yourself

You eat everything in sight, just because you love food and studying is not working out.... Those Oreo's and Ben & Jerry's don't stand a chance.

9. Time To Take The Final

Just try your best. That's all they ask for anyways, and at this point do you really even care? Probably not.

10. Celebrate That Finals Are Over

You did it! So you go kill some brain cells to celebrate that it's all over.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
