We all could use some encouragement.

Every 20-something woman is dealing with something and truth be told, they could really use some encouragement. These three strong and powerful woman have provided that encouragement with their words.

As the queen once said, “We need to reshape our own perception of how we view ourselves. We have to step up as women and take the lead.” Beyonce is love. Beyonce is life. With the constant access to social media and the portrayal of how women should look, the perfect relationship, etc., it is unfortunately easy to maintain an unrealistic image of what our lives should be like, and it really sucks. We need to recognize this and do something about it.

The media is always going to have some effect on the way we perceive ourselves and others, but it does not have to dominate the decisions we make and the way in which we live our lives. Beyonce posed a challenge. Rather than allowing ourselves to sit on the sidelines and watch everything happen, let's immerse ourselves in the society we live in and change it. Let’s stop allowing others to tell us what we should look like, what we should and shouldn’t do, and who we are capable of becoming. Women, and anyone for that matter, are qualified to do whatever they set their minds to. Thank you, Beyonce, for giving us a much needed reminder that the opportunity to seize what we want is waiting for us -- if we only have the courage to take it and run with it.

Every woman possesses an inner strength that she occasionally forgets exists; Eleanor Roosevelt emphasized this when she said, "A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong she is until she gets in how water." I absolutely love this quote, not only because it’s true, but because so many of us tend to overlook it. There Is a spark inside each and every woman. The spark is always there, and is waiting to be lit by something that ignites us, whether it’s something we love, are passionate about, or are even afraid of. Don’t allow this spark to fizzle out by falling into the endless cycle of thinking you aren’t brave, you aren’t fearless, or you aren’t strong. Because I promise that you are; you just don’t always realize it. Thank you, Eleanor Roosevelt, for inspiring all women to harness their strength and bravery, and for reminding us that we all possess these qualities, we just don’t always know it.

The well-known feminist, Oprah Winfrey, who has always advocated for the equality of women everywhere, said “I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint – and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.” We are all called to something that ignites the fire in our hearts, makes our lives worth living, and gives us the courage to always face life’s trials and tribulations. It is so important to have the courage to seek what calls you, and to never give up until you get what you are reaching for. You are going to fail numerous times, and there is always going to be someone who tells you no. Don’t ever take no for an answer, and absolutely never fall into the trap of believing you don’t deserve what you want. Because you do deserve it. We all do. Work for what you want for yourself, for your mom who raised you, for your little sister that looks up to you, and for all of the women around the world who are supporting you. Nothing comes easy, but everything you are working for will pay off if you just keep pushing. Thank you, Oprah Winfrey, for always emphasizing the importance of fearlessly chasing after our dreams.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
