Greys Anatomy Wiki

"Grey’s Anatomy" just had its season 13 premiere, so in honor of that emotional episode, here are the top eight most emotional moments of the whole series.

1. Derek chooses Addison

After Meredith pours her heart out to Derek in an iconic scene in the scrub room, he still chooses Addison over her. Shaking my head at you, McDreamy.

2. Denny Duquette

Whether or not you liked Izzie Stevens (she definitely wasn’t my favorite on the show), the entire situation surrounding Denny Duquette was heart wrenching. The worst was when it finally ended during the Seattle Grace prom, when Izzie went to see him after he proposed and found him dead. Then Alex had to carry her out of the room as she sobbed. It was pretty awful.

3. Burke leaves Christina

As they are about to get married, it is obvious that Christina is freaking out and having doubts, I mean, she writes her vows on her arm in order to remember them. In the end, Burke leaves Christina, and she breaks down, showing that she really did want to marry him. Her reaction is on the other end of the spectrum from where her emotions usually are, and it’s horrible to watch her react the way she does.

4. Izzie sees George from the elevator

This is ranked number two of my all-time cry moments, right behind the movie, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." Izzie is going into cardiac arrest at the same time as George during his surgery – he had just jumped in front of a bus to save a woman. Izzie is flashing back to the prom when she was riding the elevator up to see Denny, so you get the impression that she is riding the elevator up to heaven. When the doors open, George is standing there in an Army uniform, showing that he is dead, as he had just joined the military to become a trauma surgeon. I will never be over this episode, it practically ripped my soul in half.

5. The hospital shooting

When the husband of a deceased patient brings a gun into the hospital, all hell breaks loose. At the end of the first episode, the man shoots Derek while Meredith watches. Then at the beginning of the second episode, you see the Derek is alive. Christina is operating on Derek when the shooter comes into the O.R. threatening her life if she continues the surgery. The entire two episode story is an emotional rollercoaster as you see the struggles of everyone in the hospital.

6. The plane crash

As we see, the amount of tragedy that these surgeons face is countless. The plane crash, causing the deaths of Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan, Arizona Robbin’s leg amputation, and the severe arm injury of Derek Shepherd. This is a crazy two-part episode and I can’t even explain the emotions that you will feel when you watch this episode. Just bring out the tissues, you’ll need them.

7. Jackson and April lose their baby

Basically, Jackson and April were the perfect couple with an amazing love story and in the end, they lost their baby to a horrible birth defect. The entire storyline is heartbreaking and the aftermath of the loss is awful to watch.

8. Derek Shepherd dies

In one of the worst plot twists that has been on this show, Derek dies while saving others after a car crash. You think he’s in the clear after everything, and suddenly he’s being wheeled into a hospital with unqualified surgeons who have no idea what they’re dealing with. He dies in the hospital with Meredith by his side after his brain injury becomes too bad, causing brain death.

" Grey's Anatomy" is the biggest emotional rollercoaster that anybody will ever experience, but you can't stop watching no matter how many times an episode you cry.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
