Embrace This Season

There is a season for everything.

"Embrace this season of your life." I really like this quote. Not only is it simple and sweet, but I feel like there is a lot of encouragement behind it. It reminds me of some beautiful scripture in the Bible:

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

a time to be born and a time to die,

a time to plant and a time to uproot,

a time to kill and a time to heal,

a time to tear down and a time to build,

a time to weep and a time to laugh,

a time to mourn and a time to dance,

a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,

a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,

a time to search and a time to give up,

a time to keep and a time to throw away,

a time to tear and a time to mend,

a time to be silent and a time to speak,

a time to love and a time to hate,

a time for war and a time for peace. - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

In these verses, they explain that there are good times and bad times in life. There are times where things go our way or things are turning out right. There are also times where things did not exactly go the way we wanted or maybe things hurt us.
Maybe you are in a season of waiting or a season of spiritual drought, and it's difficult for you to find the joy and peace of mind in all of it. Or maybe you are traveling and having fun with your friends, yet you still feel alone or overwhelmed with what is to come.

Whatever season you are in, first know you are not alone. God sees you. He cares about how to feel and what you are thinking. He has a purpose for this season in your life and has many wonderful things to come for you.

Second, embrace the season you are in. I know that sometimes that is a lot easier said than done, but embrace where you are because you are there for a purpose and a reason. Might as well embrace it instead of walking sadly through the desert.

Enjoy the season and embrace it. Open up to your friends about the season you are in. Who knows, they might be going through a similar situation. Encourage others about the season you are in and what you have learned about it. They might come along into a season very similar soon.

There is always some joy that can be found in the seasons of life. We just have to be brave enough to look for it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
