They keep it interesting.

Through college you’ll come in contact with a variety of people. It does not matter what college, big or small, because all of these types of people can be found among any campus:

1. The "Party Animal"

This person is always down to party, it doesn’t matter what day of the week it is, or what time of day. This is the person that you know will be out every weekend, so you never have to worry about finding someone to go out with.

2. The “Underachiever”

We all know someone like this - you see them all the time, and every time you do, they never seem to be doing anything school related, they never look stressed, and you’re not even sure if they own a text book. You hate this person, because you envy him/her.

3. The “Sorry, I’m late”

This person could have a two day notice of a designated time and they would still be at least 2-3 minutes late. Whether it be class, group projects, or even going out on the weekend, they will never be on time, but you always save them a seat because you know they’ll come eventually.

4. The “Grand-mom”

At one point or another we have all had moments where we didn’t, or at least didn’t feel like, going out or doing anything but lay in our bed. However, this is the person who never wants to do anything remotely fun at all.

5. The “I Peaked in High School”

Don’t get me wrong, I have too many Interboro High school t-shirts to count and I still do wear them all the time, you know… to bed, to the gym, or if it’s laundry day. This one’s for the guys who wear their football jackets/hoodies/t-shirts every single day--you are in college now, no one really cares (or listens) when you go on and on about your high school football stats.

6. The “Floater”

This is the person who is just always around, bouncing from friend group to friend group, they’re typically involved in a lot, and they’re always friendly. They know almost everyone, and everyone knows them. They’re not sure what major they’re going to pursue just yet, they’re kind of just doing their thing and making the most of the college experience.

7. The “Drama Queen”

The girl version of the old football star; no one really wants to be around them, but in a way you kind of feel sorry for them, as their biggest concerns are who is hooking up with who, and why they didn’t get invited to a certain party. Wherever they go drama follows; they too are stuck in high school.

8. The “Gym Rat”

It doesn’t matter what time of the day you go to the gym, because this person is always there. You’re like 95% sure they’re only in college because of the free gym.

9. The “Greek Life or Die”

Whether they’re in a sorority/fraternity or planning on joining, it is all they talk about. If they’re in one, they’re never not wearing their letters. If they’re not in one (yet) they’re mentally planning out the different articles of clothing they can put their letters on.

10. The “Guy Hopper”

We all know this girl, every time you see her she has a new guy she’s infatuated with. The stories every Saturday morning are pretty interesting, although it can sometimes be hard to keep up.

11. The “Player”

Analogous to the “guy hopper,” but since we live in a society of double standards, this person is usually praised by his friends as they all seem to think the more girls they hook up with, the cooler it makes them.

It was through writing this that I realized I have a friend in each of these categories. They make college great, and I wouldn't trade any of them for anything. Thank you to my friends who keep college interesting; keep being you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
