Dear Vampire Diaries,

Firstly, I'd like to mourn your impending demise. A little over a month ago, I saw a recommended video while logged on my Youtube account titled, "The Vampire Diaries | TVD Forever | The CW". The word "forever" caught my attention and since I was already watching my favorite Vampire Diaries scenes over and over again, I decided that there would be no harm in checking out the video - that was until I read the video description: "The final season of TVD begins Friday, October 21 on The CW." I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. "Final" struck a nerve, because a little while before that, I was thinking of all of my favorite television series I knew wouldn't come an end anytime soon [I call these my safety net shows, since they provide me some type of security of being there for a long time, to cope with series that have been cancelled - refer to the article here on cancelled series I grew attached to] due to their popularity. In the video, it showed the most notable scenes with reflections from the cast and crew members and towards the end of the video, showed the cast saying goodbye. I didn't think an eight minute video bring so many tears to my eyes, as I reflected on what this show got me through.

Secondly, I'd like to thank you. Thank you for such creative plots. Thank you for the depth you added to your characters. Thank you for the excellent composed soundtracks. Thank you for the happiness. Thank you for the tears you made me shed. I first stumbled across you on Netflix with your first two seasons available for stream. Once I started watching, I got hooked immediately. To the characters. To the plot. To everything. I couldn't wait for the next season to premiere on television; not for me to say I'm all the way caught up or for me to be able to participate in dialogue over the previous night's episode, but for me to know what's going to happen next and what next conflict will hurl its way into the characters' lives.

Lastly, The Vampire Diaries has been a world of wonder for me and millions of other fans. The Vampire Diaries was far from being overrated. The praise was well deserved and earned through the magnificent work of the cast and crew. I'm going to miss watching this on Thursday and Friday evenings. Your very last first episode of a new season is in a week and a few days. When May 2017 comes and you reach your finale, I'll be devastated. Nevertheless, this has been a lovely journey and to keep you alive in my imagination, I'll perhaps rewatch everything and continue listening to your composed musical soundtrack.

You'll never be forgotton,

A die hard fan

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
