As a child, I can remember walking to the election booths with my father. I remember how excited I was to watch him vote. How it felt when who he voted for won. Plus, let's not forget the awesome sticker they hand out. I couldn't wait till I turned 18 to vote. I dreamed of it. I have always loved politics, and I will always have a place in my heart for it, but if you told me when I was a little girl that the first presidential election I participated in was basically a choice of which foot you'd rather shoot yourself in - I would've been so disappointed.
I mean, are you serious? How has it came down to this impossible decision? We have a choice between a woman who is a career politician and a man who changes his stances based on what's popular in the moment and not what he actually believes in. Trump is a racist, sexist nincompoop, and Hillary is a liar.

We must look like a laughingstock to other countries across the world.
But I've been thinking, our Lord will always be sovereign. It doesn't matter if Clinton or Trump wins. Nothing will take away the power Christ has.
God is sovereign. He's the ruler over all, and everyday that I see a new meme or hear the new ignorant thing that fell out of one of their mouths, I must remind myself of this:
"Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." Proverbs 19:21
Praise be to God that I have the right to vote, a right to choose. Praise the Lord that he is in control. I'm so thankful to live in a country that enables me to practice my right, even when I don't like either of the candidates.
