Eight Things You Might Forget To Pack For School

For most college students, move in day happens sometime in the next two weeks. While you are excitedly packing up to move into your new dorm room, you remember to pack your bedding, PlayStation, and books, the essentials to college living. When you get to your new pad, you might notice some things you forgot to pack! Below is a list of the most common forgotten items, to hopefully help you avoid that situation!

1. Command strips

This stuff holds things up better than tape! I even bought some heavy-duty ones last year that held up a full length mirror. Plus, command strips usually cause less damage to the walls, so less damage billing.

2. TP

And no, I don't mean for pulling pranks (although, there is no foul in a few harmless pranks, right?) If you have your on bathroom, toilet paper is a must. Even if you share communal bathrooms, it might help to bring a couple rolls, in case it runs out!

3. Extra bedding

Comes in handy if you have some friends from home stay for the night!

4. Quarters

Definitely going to need them for laundry!

5. Laundry detergent

Speaking of laundry...don't forget detergent! Or dryer sheets!

6. Cups, plates, and silverware

So you don't have to steal from the dining hall- that's not cool!

7. Pens, highlighters, folders

You know... school supplies! While it's great to remember your books, having nothing to take notes with isn't good!

8. Decorations

Don't forget to pack things that make your dorm feel like home!

Luckily, if you have forgotten any of these items, they can be bought at a local department store like Walmart or Target! Also, being a college student means being low on cash. Coupons are you new best friend- and you can find coupons for all of this stuff on sites like coupons.com and retailmenot.com! Have a great year, and happy packing!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
