Summer is a truly beautiful time of the year, and there is no better way to enjoy that beauty than by binge watching Netflix in your bed. Maybe you have air-conditioning. Maybe you just have four fans within a foot of your body. Either way, summer is made for binging!

You can always go with a classic binge like "OITNB," "Friends," "Making a Murderer," "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," or "The Office." However, there are so many other great shows to choose from!

Here are eight shows you need to watch this summer:

1. "Peaky Blinders"

There is never a dull moment in this BBC series which follows the Birmingham based Peaky Blinders gang during the years following World War I. Cillian Murphy offers an amazing performance as the lead in this series, and spoiler alert -- Tom Hardy comes in during season two! It is the best show on Netflix!

2. "Flaked"

In contrast to Will Arnett's usual comedic image, this series portrays a very real and emotional situation. Touching on topics of love, friendship, and honesty, Flaked follows the life a former alcoholic as he faces struggles surrounding addiction and his future. Despite serious topics, the show certainly has its moments of humor and lightness.

3. "Scrotal Recall"

This British comedy follows a group of three friends as one is forced to confront all of his former partners after being diagnosed with chlamydia. It sounds strange, but as each episode replays a former relationship you can't help but relate to the awkwardness! Its a quick watch and it's worth it for sure!

4. "Documentary Now!"

Starring Bill Hader and Fred Armisen, this show is comedic genius! Every episode is a new mock-umentary, with new characters and a different variation of humor. The best part is how seriously they take all of it! If you liked SNL with these two, you will love this!

5. "Bob's Burgers"

This is a show that may take a few episodes to get into, but then it becomes so easy to get hooked on. The constant butt jokes and sexual innuendo epitomize stupid humor in the best way! The episodes are short and are honestly great for when you only have a little bit of time to Netflix. 10/10 would recommend.

6. "Master of None"

Aziz Ansari is on his A-game in this Netflix original series! Full of awkward, witty, and situational humor, there is something for everyone! There is only one season streaming, now, with a second set to come out in 2017. So it's really not to much of a time commitment for this binge, which is definitely a deciding factor, at times.

7. "My Name Is Earl"

Originally airing from 2005 to 2009, this is a lighthearted comedy series follows Earl, played by Jason Lee, after winning the lottery. He decides that he needs to make up for all of his past wrongs so that karma lets him have the money. This show is very similar to "Scrubs" in the type of humor. It's easy to watch and you will grow to love the characters!

8. "An Idiot Abroad"

In this reality type show, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant send their best friend, Karl Pilkington, all over the world. Seems harmless, but in each destination Gervais and Merchant make their friend participate and complete various activities. They usually aren't horrible! What makes it absolutely hilarious is how much of a pessimist Karl Pilkington is regarding everything he is doing.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead.
