As a future English teacher, I'm been trying to prepare for the various ways in which I can help better the learning experience for students. I will admit that for quite some time thinking about this was not something that I had as a priority; but, now that I've grown as a learner and the time is coming for me to be an "adult," I'm now realizing how important it is to plan for my future students. Even if I haven't met them yet. Just recently, I became introduced to the world of Twitter in a way that I was not aware of. Behind the usual use of Twitter - like tweeting to celebrities and following gossip - you will find the world of EduChats. What is an EduChat and why should all future educators use this? Let me tell you!

An EduChat is simple: it is basically a space where you can feel comfortable enough to chat and connect with educators, parents, and students about all things education. This is a space where ideas can be shared, help can be asked, and answers will be found. Overall, it connects everyone from all over the world in order to discuss how education can be a greater learning experience for both students and teachers.

Just yesterday, I had the opportunity to do an EduChat with some great educators! The EduChat was called #DitchBook (for those of you who wanna join in) and it was probably one of the best chats I got to participate in.

Here, we got to discuss how we can make the classroom a better environment and in what ways can get incorporate engagement between students and teachers! Best part about this? It was all superhero themed! After all, teachers are just superheroes in disguise! Here are some of the questions I faced:

I LOVED QUESTION NUMBER TWO!

I'm such a firm believer in achieving things together when it comes to students and teachers, so this question really grabbed my attention. These questions really made me think about what projects or discussions I could actually engage in - in order to achieve more.

Always ask for help! Twitter is such a great tool, if you ever feel like you're stuck on ideas to incorporate into the classroom. There are endless educators who have been in your shoes and they'd be happy to help fellow educators in need!

Being involved in this chat made me realize how important it is to connect with people from all over the world who are all about education. Becoming involved in social media chats like this give everyone the opportunity to explore the various ideas that can help you as a future teacher/educator and most importantly, the students. Chat on and never forget to be the best hero to all your students!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
