One of my favorite artists is Ed Sheeran.

His songs are just so real, so filled with emotion, and his voice is so soothing and beautiful. The catchy lyrics go so well together with the harmonies that he writes. Let’s be real, though, they are all pretty damn catchy. Ed knows how to write songs that will attract his fans. Here are some of my favorite Ed Sheeran songs. Some are well known, and some are not so popular but still so filled with emotion and soul.

“Castle on the Hill”

“And I'm on my way / I still remember these old country lanes / When we did not know the answers.” An upbeat tune, that morphs into a reminiscent and somewhat sad collection of stories, this song conveys the importance of memories and finding your way back to your roots when you’ve been away for a while. No matter where you go in life, remember to go home once in awhile. “I can’t wait to go home.”

“Where We Land”

“Let’s free fall and see where we land,” is a cute little lyric filled with hope and possibility. This short song is packed with passion.

“All of the Stars”

From the movie “The Fault in Our Stars,” this soft and sweet song is one that will soothe and guide you into restful sleep or at least relaxation. “Open your eyes and see the way our horizons meet.” How can you not love that? “All of these stars will guide us home.”

“Tenerife Sea”

One lyric is “You look so beautiful in this light / Your silhouette over me / The way it brings out the blue in your eyes / Is the Tenerife sea.” Need I say more? “Just say the word and I’ll disappear into the wilderness.”

“Sofa”

If you need a catchy song that is simultaneously a reminder of the simple things in life, like doing nothing with the special person or people in your life- this one’s perfect for you. The best lyrics in this one are “We could fly to Berlin, Tokyo or Jamaica / We can go where you want / Say the word and I’ll take ya / But I’d rather stay on the sofa / On the sofa, with you.” So precious.

“You Need Me, I Don’t Need You”

I would classify it as rap, but the lyrics of this one are just amazing and so sassy: “I sing fast, I know that all my shit’s cool /I will blast and I didn’t go to Brit School / I came fast with the way I act, right / I can’t last if I’m smoking on a crack pipe.” A bit forward, but it’s the truth. Many artists today don’t write their own songs.

“Autumn Leaves”

If you love fall like I do, this song is perfect for walking through the woods, or any scenic stroll. Listen to this one and you’ll “Float down / Like autumn leaves” through the air and down to the ground. You’ll feel weightless.

“U.N.I.”

“You’re the only one who knows I lied.” It’s a hint at how much people outside a relationship don’t know about everything under the surface. A lot goes into a relationship that isn’t seen by anyone else except the people in it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
