When it comes to celebrating holidays, I truly enjoy the traditions that my family upholds. Each tradition that we have varies. However, it provides us with a sincere and joyful time for the holiday season. Since Easter is upon us, I thought it would be fitting to share why this holiday holds a special place in my heart.

First of all, the pastel colors and flowers that surround this holiday bring me the most happiness. I love how Easter occurs during springtime, when all of the flowers and greenery are starting anew. The adorable bunnies, baby chicks, and lambs brighten up the Easter spirit and also make a great gift for little ones that are animal lovers.

The next Easter tradition that has to be by far one of my favorites is attending church early in the morning. I can remember, when I was a little girl, my mom would have my Easter dress prepared for me so that way I could quickly prepare for sunrise service. Although the Easter bunny had stopped by before we were awake, my brother and I didn't look through our Easter baskets until after the church service.

Coming back home was a treat, as we were able to eat some Easter candy and thank the Easter bunny himself.

When I was younger, Easter seemed to be the holiday that brought all of my favorite things together: precious animals, pretty colors, and yummy Easter candy. Nonetheless, as I am able to come home and spend time with my family during Easter now, I am more appreciative of the wonderful message that comes with this beautiful season.

Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins. That sentence really sinks in once you attend the Good Friday service. This service embodies all of Jesus' pain and suffering that He obtained while having the sins of the world fall upon Him. Not only does this church service cause me to really reflect on my faith, but it also makes me appreciate the Lord Our Savior even more.

Once Easter Sunday rolls around, I know that the "He Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed, Alleluia" will never cease. It is such a glorified and happy day to realize all that Jesus has done for us. Although we are sinners, He made the largest sacrifice of all by dying on the cross.

Don't get me wrong—I still enjoy eating plenty of Easter candy; nonetheless, I am so grateful to enjoy this holiday surrounded by my family and the Word of God. I encourage others to take the time and reflect on all that God has provided us with this Easter season. He truly is the reason for the Easter season.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
