Yes, I am one of those people that likes to get in the Christmas spirit a little early. Maybe even earlier than what most people are comfortable with, but why do people hate when others start spreading Christmas cheer early?
It is currently the beginning of November, which means that I am seeing many memes on Facebook that make fun of the people who listen to Christmas music before Thanksgiving. Well, guess what. I started listening to Christmas music before Halloween *gasp*
Christmas for me is not just a holiday, but a feeling. It instantly brings a calmness like no other with a touch of nostalgia, and that is the perfect feeling when you may be feeling stressed about school, work, or life. This only makes me more confused as to why some people are just flabbergasted at people who listen to Christmas music early. When Christmas cheer makes someone happy, who are you to judge them? You have no idea why this person needs a boost of happiness, and maybe you should try it, too.
I'm being a little harsh, I guess, but only because people need to be a lot less judgy. I'm not hurting you for listening to Christmas music early. Do us holiday cheerful people a favor, and let us live our winter wonderland dreams when it's 80 degrees outside.
