6 Minors You Wish Your School Offered

6 Minors You Wish Your School Offered

1. Social Media and Espionage

This cannot be denied. We all need to get our intel. Whether it be for a future job position, spying on your best friend, or making sure your special someone isn't making moves… Social Media Espionage would be a hit. It would even look pretty great on your résumé. Who knows? Maybe this will spark an interest in you to work for the CIA one day.

2. Travel and Tour

Imagine a minor that offered classes for the tourist in you. We would be taught about the language and travel to our favorite destinations while getting a boost to our degree from it. We could learn enough of the native language to get around, and go on study abroad classes, where we would immerse in that culture.

3. Study Skills

Contrary to common belief, great study skills are not an innate characteristic of the college student. Not everyone learns in the same kind of way and for some people studying is actually quite difficult. Classes focused on time management, reading comprehension, and attention span training would maximize our grades and efficiency in college.

4. Baking

This would be my dream. Every student in a hectic major needs some down time and some classes that they can actually enjoy. I know being able to take a break from all the science and math classes that are a pre-med student’s life, would be an amazing opportunity to learn a life long skill as well as de-stress. Plus, I would get to eat it all and if an “apple a day keeps the doctor away” then “a cupcake a day keeps a college kid happy”.

5. Blogging

It really is not that easy. Blogging has become an actual profession, and a quite coveted one at that. Bloggers are out there getting free clothes, make up and goodies for free from sponsors, just for making reviews and cute youtube videos. UMM…HELLO! Where can I sign up? This minor would offer classes for building your own website and purchasing your domain, creating a large follower base of interest, and even marketing yourself on mass media.

6. Slay the Make-up Game

This would be a useful skill for the remainder of any girl’s life. By being able to take classes in cosmetology and appearance we would be able to make sure we always represent ourselves in the best way possible. I don’t know about you but there are some crazy makeovers on the internet and some of these artists, I swear work magic. If you would like to be able to slay your own face each morning by learning the right way, this minor would be perfect for you!

These are just 6 minors I wish my school had…. What about you?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
