Drake vs. Meek Mill

Is It Really Meek Milly Season?

Drake vs. Meek Mill

Calling someone out for not having talent is one thing, but calling someone out for not writing their own music—that's in its own category of messed up. It all started back on June 29 when Meek Mill dropped his new album "Dreams Worth More Than Money" (DWMTM). One track on DWMTM features Drake entitled "R.I.C.O." Shortly after the album was released Meek was upset and had the following to say via twitter...

Mill claims that many of Drake's songs were not written by Drake himself, but by an Atlanta rapper by the name of Quentin Miller. Mill came out during the Pink Print Tour that he is on to clarify his Tweet but showed no remorse and was still very angry and upset.

On July 24, Quentin Miller spoke out about being titled the infamous "ghost writer" of Drake. Miller discussed how Drake found him and somewhat put him on the map and that he has collaborated with Drake, but has not in any way written lyrics for the famous hip-hop artist. Later that day, Dj Funkmaster Flex declared that Meek Mill's accusations were true and that Mill has proof.

Not even one day has to pass for Drake to drop a new tracked entitled "Charged Up" on July 27. The song is a diss track to Meek Mill, with Drake saying the most important line, "I'm honored that you think this is staged."

All social media blew up after Charged Up was released with everything from people picking sides of the battle to people sharing memes of Drake and Meek. A day after dropping "Charged Up," Meek Mill took his tour to Toronto, Drake's hometown, where he was booed the entire night.

On July 29, Drake released another diss track entitled "Back To Back" with the cover art being Joe Carter celebrating after hitting a walk off home run in the seventh game of the series to beat the Philadelphia Phillies, Meek's hometown, and giving the Toronto Blue Jays them back to back title wins over Philly in 1992 and 1993.

The next day, Meek being fed up with the tracks being released, dropped one of his own entitled "Wanna Know." Unfortunately for Meek, his track didn't have the same type of roaring success that Drake's tracks "Charged Up" and "Back to Back" had.

On July 31, Drake put a picture on Instagram to show how he felt about Meek's diss track because we all know a picture is worth a thousand words.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
