Growing up, every child has read at least one Dr. Seuss story in their life. These adorable rhyming books once beloved by everyone surprisingly have a substantial amount of life advice embodied in them. Take a second, even as a college student, and read one of these books—there's a great possibility that something will stand out to you, and help you with a decision.
1. “You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And you are the one who’ll decide where to go”
Now that you're in college, you get to decide what to do with your own life. Do what makes you happy, and don't worry about anything, or anyone, else. It may seem scary at first, but you already have the skills to succeed, whether you know you have them or not.
2.“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.”
Don't worry about things that change in your life when you go to college, they're supposed to. Everyone is growing up and going different ways. If things change, know that there's something better planned just ahead for you.
3.“A person’s a person, no matter how small.”
Remember to stay humble no matter how much you succeed. Others may be behind you, but they still matter just as much as you do.
4.“Think and wonder, wonder and think.”
Question everything and dream the biggest dreams you can. The world is at your fingertips, make the most of it.
5.“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?”
Remember that nothing is more important than being yourself. Don't change to fit in with a trend, be the next one to start the trend instead.
6."And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed!"
College may be scary, but as long as you're pursuing what you love, you will succeed.
7."You're off to Great Places! Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, So... get on your way!"
College will open so many amazing doors for everyone. All you have to do is work hard and the world is yours.
