Beer foam rolling down the side of hurricane glasses, and buffalo chicken dip falling on clean white carpets as the Broncos and Panthers went head to head in Santa Clara, California for Super Bowl L last Sunday.
This scenario seems perfect as families gathered in the stadium and on the couches of many houses and watch the commercials that were sure to please the eye, but not the pocketbooks of companies who created them.
I think you get where I'm getting at here, or at least, I hope so. The Super Bowl presented many commercials featuring dachshunds dressed up as hot dogs, and the 75th anniversary special for Jeep.
One commercial in particular has caused quite a stir and it hasn't even been in the loop of air time for 24 hours. That commercial is the one who features a fetus reaching for Doritos their father is munching on during the ultrasound appointment. The mother grabbed the Doritos from his hand and throws it to the ground leading the baby to lung forward, therefore making the child seem as if it is putting their mother into early labor.

This seemingly harmless commercial caught the eye of a National Abortion Rights Action League group who claim that the creators are purposely trying to "Humanize the fetus". They sent out a tweet shortly after it air stating, "#NotBuyingIt - that @Doritos ad using #antichoice tactic of humanizing fetuses & sexist tropes of dads as clueless & moms as uptight. #SB50"
Although the "hate tweet" received some traffic on twitter there were many others who stood up against abortion and what NARL had to say.
Twitter user Bridget Smith commented that Doritos shouldn't be at fault for showing that a fetus is a living breathing human being.
Many other users came to her side as they made comments about what else the mother could be pregnant with other than a baby.
Regardless of what the Media says. Upon conception, no matter how many weeks old the fetus is, there is a human being in the mother's baby. Just because the limbs, eyes, and internal organs aren't fully developed or functioning at 100 percent does not deem the baby as not human.
Imagine if that was you that was in your mothers belly. You are only 7 weeks old and your mother decides that she doesn't want you anymore, you don't matter to her, and that her having sex and conceiving you was a mistake. She can simply go to the doctors and be scheduled an appointment to simply end your life.
You won't know what it's like to cry, play with your brothers and sisters. Or even know what it's like for someone to love you.
I am asking you, for the sake of the babies, 1 week after conception or a month after standing against NARL and think of other options for your baby or someone you know who is pregnant and isn't able to take care of their baby.
Remember, it could have been you.
