Who could resist a puppy, right? I mean really, there really is nothing cuter. I think we all remember when we got our first brand new puppy, kitten, whatever animal it was. Maybe it was in a box or had a bow on it. Regardless, it was pretty doggone cute. However, now, it is an adult. I'm sure, or hope, and you love him/her just as much as the first day you two were introduced. However, what about the even more deserving dogs in the shelter or pound? What about them?
I have always had a heart for animals, but around a few years ago is when I decided I couldn't really be "in the club" until I rescued at least one. I'd be all talk. I couldn't vouch for the homeless animals if I was doing nothing about it all. So, one becomes two, two became three, etc. I now have two rescue dogs at my home and do all I can to help other ones find homes simply because their lives matter.
For starters, I can tell you that rescue dogs are grateful. I swear to you they KNOW that you broke them out of there. They're going to be the most loving, playful, kind dog that you'll find out there. I need no evidence to prove this. It's a fact.
While puppies are an experience and totally chosen by just you, a rescue dog will CHOOSE YOU. They'll choose you every day! They will love you unconditionally and, mind you, are almost free in the first place.
Rescue dogs are not broken. They simply just have a more interesting tales. Do not pity them. Instead, do something. If all of us rescue one, imagine the DIFFERENCE we can make. They need you, but you also need them. I promise.
