Don't Run Away From Change; Embrace It!

Change gives us all these new opportunities in our lives, good or bad. It tells us what we like and what we don't like. It shapes us to be the person we are now. It brings us to where we are now. Change is okay!

Don't Run Away From Change; Embrace It!

It's human nature to want to be comfortable. Comfortability gives a sense of relaxation because everything seems to be "normal" and familiar. Think of a time where you had to go out of your comfort zone and do something that you were hesitant about. Maybe it was a time where you had to meet someone new. Or maybe it was a time that you were trying something new for the first time that you did not feel too good about. Now think back to that time. Most likely, you felt better after a while, and finally you started to become comfortable. And here we are back at square one, we feel better because we are comfortable.

You may be in a part of your life right now where you're content, satisfied - a time where you do not want change. Or maybe you're in a part of your life where you do not know what you're doing or why you're feeling a certain way. Maybe you do want change, but even though you want to, you fear it. What could change do to what I have right now? Will it change for the better or for the worst? Isn't that the question when we think about leaving our comfort zone and facing some type of change in our lives?

Change is always happening in our lives before our eyes, even when we do not realize. Think about it, where were you a month ago? What about a year ago? Change has happened. It is something that you can't control yourself because it is inevitable. It is part of life. Maybe it was good change, or maybe it was even bad. Either way, if you think hard enough, you can at least tell yourself one good change in your life - even if it is the smallest thing.

What makes us think that some changes are bad is the idea of not letting go. We are still holding onto some of the pieces that we wished never changed. We are still holding onto the past because at that moment, these were the important parts of our lives, but when we are ready to let go, we will realize that it wasn't so bad. You're ready to be over it and move on with your life. You will realize that there are better and bigger things in life for you coming your way.

Of course, change is not easy. Nobody said it would be. If everything was easy in life, we would not know what the hard part of life would be. We would not be grateful for the easy parts in life. We would not know what happiness and accomplishment would truly mean. Remember, every hard part comes with a side of easy.

So the next time change is in front of you, don't run away from it. Embrace it because who knows what it can bring into your life. You'll never know if you're scared of it and constantly avoiding it. Even if it doesn't go the way you want it to, remember at the end of the day, everything will come together eventually, and you'll wonder how you got through it all. Most importantly, you will gain strength and knowledge, and you'll find yourself embracing change coming into your life.

Sure, comfortable is great. But change is what brings us forward.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
