My Prom was this past weekend, and I am here to tell you that you do not need a date to go to your own Prom.

To Every High School Girl, You Don't Need A Date For Prom

There is a huge stigma around Prom and the idea that you need to have a date in order to attend, but I am here to tell you that times have changed and that you don't need a date, trust me you will have just as much fun either way.

This year I went to Prom with friends rather than a date, and let me tell you, it was the best decision I have ever made. Now, of course, that is not the case for everyone, sometimes going with a date is a lot of fun! I am just here to tell you that it is not the end of the world if you do not have one. Going without a date was much more freeing. I could dance and do whatever I wanted without having someone else there to be with the entire time, of course having a date was fun (I had one for my Junior Prom and it was amazing as well) but being able to have the ability to really dance the night away and not have to worry about someone else is really fun!

Even going by yourself with a group of people who have dates can be fun, you just have to be with the right people. I know it sounds awful to be the only one without a date in your friend group but when they both happen to be your best friends, you are more worried about how happy they are together than you have a date. Remember your goal at prom is to feel beautiful and have fun! If you are worried about finding a date it will ruin the whole experience.

Prom should be a stress-free and fun for everyone, and really your first priority should be what can I do to give myself that experience, do not be afraid to go alone, but do not be afraid to get a date as well! Just remember, it is not the end of the world if you do not have a date.

I know I had the time of my life at my Senior Prom this year, and I am just hoping that you all do the same!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
