Stepping out of your comfort zone is probably one of the hardest things someone will ever have to do. We have to swallow our fear and be willing to accept failure. Don’t waste your time convincing yourself that you’re better off. Being in high school is hard enough, but dealing with extra curriculars, grades, college apps, stress from your parents, and even yourself is one hundred times harder. Learn how to balance school with your outside life and things will slowly fall into place. Now I’m not saying that this is a hard-core fact; but if you let life do its thing and work hard in school, it will pay off. Try new things, be yourself, appreciate what you have, and work hard. Don’t let time slip through your fingers.
Comfort is a strange thing. Humans crave it, but also want to escape it. Experiencing new things opens up your mind to new ideas, thoughts, and feelings. Don't watch your life through a screen looking at the things you wish you could do. It's okay to be alone, it's okay to be with people, it's okay to be with one person, it's okay to be you. Learn to desire comfort and learn to run away from it to experience new things, thoughts, places, people and anything you could possibly imagine. Don't take life too seriously.
We’re floating right now, keep that in mind. Okay, whatever you’re doing, thinking, or stressing about is not important. Realize where you are and who you are. Don’t let someone else define you, become the best version of yourself that you can be. You don’t need comfort, you want it. You want comfort to make you feel like you’re not just another lonely mind. You want comfort to make you feel important. Learn to feel this way just by being your exquisite, unique, divine, beautiful self.
Don’t let other people get in the way of your happiness, thoughts, aspirations, education, and of yourself. Comfort is defined as “a state of physical ease and freedom from pain or constraint”. You can’t rely on someone else to give you this. Feel welcome in your own body. You don’t belong to anyone but yourself. Remember this when you’re sad, happy, confused, angry, disappointed, insecure, hurt, or any other emotion.
I constantly needed comfort, advice, help, attention and support. I have one true, genuine, amazing human that gave me this. Find someone you can latch onto for dear life, but learn to be okay without them. This one lovely human was always there for me, no matter what time, no matter what was happening in his world; he would be there for me. He got me through everything. Then, he moved across the world. Having one true person in your life is amazing, but once they leave, it can destroy you. Don’t let that happen. I didn’t. I learned to get my self through my own situations. I got myself into this mess so I would get myself out of it. I had to figure things out for myself, without any comfort, support, or advice.
You control how you feel. You control your emotions. You control everything in your little universe of a mind. It’s okay to have comfort. It’s okay to be alone. It’s okay to have nothing. It’s okay to have everything.
