Big things will always happen in people's lives. It's your choice if you want to be there with them supporting them, or just being a downer about it.
They could be getting a new car or hitting a milestone in their life.
What I have learned from the past: Being jealous gets you absolutely NOWHERE! You just have to learn to be supportive. If they finally saved up enough money to get a better car than what they have, then you should know they’re so excited about it.
You should be, too.
No, change that, you NEED to be excited too. Because if they sense that you’re not as excited about it as they are, then you’ll bring them down too.In a few years when they think about that moment that they hit 1,000 followers or finally saved up enough money for their car to pay for it on their own, they’ll think of it as a not-so-great-time.
You let them down instantly.
I’m not saying to be fake about it, but you should be happy because their happiness is infectious. Don’t bring them down because they’ll always regret having you there for that big moment. You’re wishing you got that many followers or a brand new car, right? They’ve been wanting that for a long time too.
Your time will come, so let them have their moment.
When you give them the support they need with big moments they’ll trust you more, and they will (most likely) give you the same support in return when it’s your time.
I found these pages in The Sun and her flowers by Rupi Kaur and I felt like they are good quotes to end this article.
"How do i shake this envy
when i see you doing well
sister how do i love myself enough to know
your accomplishments are not my failures
-we are not each other's competition"
"learning to not envy
someone else's blessings
is what grace looks like"
