Don't Break Her Mirror

Breaking it is the worst thing that a guy could do.

Don't Break Her Mirror
Broken Rearview Mirror

When you start a relationship with a girl there should only be one rule for every guy out there; Don't break her mirror. This simple phrase may not seem like too much to those who don't want to put a lot of thought into things and that same laziness will cause their break ups to occur way before they get a chance to break my one simple rule. Every day when a girl wakes up and looks in the mirror she sees way more than just the beautiful face that you do. She sees her hopes, dreams, feelings, and goals that fill her mirror with the most amazing and wonderful thoughts. When a guy enters her life that mirror gets filled with another face that she also sees looking back at her. That face belongs to the man that she has so graciously allowed to come into her life. On her mirror each and every morning the hopes, dreams, feelings, and goals that belong to this guy gather together. She sees them and thinks how they match up with her life and how well the words flow together. The face that she recognizes as herself starts to glow like never before as her new life partner and best friend sparks a light inside of her like only a true relationship can. All of this can be seen by the glow coming off of her mirror and the soft warmth that flows from her mirror into herself. Every morning she sees the two faces that she cares about the most and as time goes on those hopes and dreams start to come together as feelings do when two people start to fall in love. After a while her mirror has become as clear as ever with the ambitions of her relationship written every so neatly around the faces of the two lovers. She's happy and content and excited about everything that will become of her life.

This is when every guy should soak up my advice as they read it. DON'T BREAK HER MIRROR.

This simple rule can be so easily overlooked by guys out there and the result goes way beyond whatever silly reasoning a boy can think of behind his actions. For what happens when you break this rule must also be known. The morning after one mistake by her man, this girl wakes up and looks into her same mirror as she has done countless days before. Everything seems normal until she notices a small little scratch right above where her heart is in the reflection glowing back at her. This scratch doesn't seem like much but at this point her mirror can no longer be what it was before. As the days go on her mirror stops warming her face and her heart and instead starts to feel like a window that lets a chilling draft into the room. The once small scratch continues to grow and spread like when a rock hits your windshield. Her mirror starts to fall to the ground shard by shard and she will never be able to fix that mirror. Your mistake has caused the reflection to leave her and now she looks at a blank wall that offers nothing in return besides the thought of what could have been. The only way this mirror can be fixed is by you, the guy who messed up, getting on your hands and knees and picking up each piece of glass that contains bits and pieces of everything you two had together. The sharp edges and the jagged pieces have the potential to cut into your heart and your mind like you have done to her. Can this mirror actually be fixed? That's for that girl to only know. All I know is if you follow my rule you will never have to worry about it. So please for every guy young and old who reads this, don't break her mirror.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
