I share my ideas with people, and I can agree they’re mostly overwhelming. Most people ‘wow’ me, but only a few ask me further questions about my ideas. You don’t know how beautiful it is to hear somebody talk about their passion. At times, it may seem unrealistic, but to see their passion take over their body and mind is wonderful. Often I come home and hear my housemate talk about Bernie Sanders. I hear him talk for hours. We’ve gotten to the point where three hours have passed by and we keep talking about him. I still continue to listen because he proposes so many ideas to me. I could stand and listen to anybody talk about their passions and remain in tact with them throughout the whole time.
Don’t be afraid to express your true passion. We need different people around the world or else we wouldn’t function as a whole. If you are passionate about one thing but you’re not sure if it’s going to get approved by society’s norms, don’t worry about them because it’s YOUR passion, not theirs.
I’ve experienced a few times where I got to know somebody very well and they share their passions to me. I ask them why they don’t go public with them or even practice them for that matter, and you know what a lot of them have said? They think it’s weird…
There is absolutely nothing weird about showing your true passion. Of course, if you want to keep it down-low go ahead, but don’t let anything stop you from doing what you love.
Be yourself, and show your true colors. Get out of that box and look outside. You have a lot of colored pencils, paintbrushes, and pencils to draw outside the box. You need to be able to decorate your outside now with confidence and share with the world your true passion. There are people out there waiting for you to show what you love to do. And who knows, what if it becomes famous and you get to become a leader? Wouldn’t that be great?
You need a little bit of strength, confidence, and positivity. People may criticize you or make fun of you for doing something that’s different to them, but don’t let that discourage you. There aren’t any societal norms about passions, besides the fact that everything is “weird” nowadays, and that’s the only norm: don’t be weird. People will criticize you if you don’t follow it. But guess what? The most successful people don’t care and neither should you.
They express themselves to the world and that’s the bottom line of life if that you need to show yourself off with your best attributes, that is, your diverse attributes. Your uniqueness. You will see people admiring you once you let people know that you like to collect socks, or that you write in a journal every day, or that you like to stay in on Friday nights to play the violin while pretending to be in a movie scene. We’re all wonderful in every way, but first, we have to show people that we’re not afraid to show our true colors.
