Don't Be Afraid Of Change

It's not actually that scary.

Change affects everything in life, from the color of the leaves on the trees to the people you have relationships with, you cannot escape it. It’s around you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Physically, you are changing literally every second of the day. Cells die and are replaced by new ones every second of the day. As you get older new aches and pains show up and you may not be able to function in the same way as you used to when you were older.

But change also happens mentally. As you go through life you will meet so many different people, and each one of those people will have their own thoughts and opinions on the world. They will, no doubt, have an idea about something which you may have never thought of before, and it could quite possibly change how you see something. Things that never used to bother you could start making you so angry you could punch something, whereas something you used to be so passionate about can become something you really don’t care about anymore. As you change, the people you get along with might no longer be people you want to be around anymore and vice versa. You’ll drift from those you once thought would be in your life forever and find a new group of people which you claim will be in your life forever.

Life can be a very difficult game to play and it has its own effects on us. Your heart will be broken by so many different things. By friends, family, lovers. It’s no wonder that the older we get, the tougher we become. Because life gives us no options to change and harden ourselves against the hardships. Your heart can break so many times from so many different reasons. But there can be good change as well, you can meet someone who reminds you that there’s good in the world and who will actually give you a reason to smile. They might add a bit of sunshine to that darkness that you can feel trapped in and change how you function yet again.

Change is something that happens constantly. Every day, every hour, things and people are changing. It’s like the cycle of the seasons, you’re never going to escape it and yet it’s something that so many people try to avoid. You hear people say it all the time, “I hate change. Can’t things just stay the same?” The answer to that question is, of course, no. Embrace change, nothing will ever stay the same, and that’s okay.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
