Dogs Are A Blessing in College

Dogs - you grew up with them, but had to leave them when you went to college. They do not allow dogs in the dorm, but now you are finally living off campus. Now finally you can get a dog but is it the right choice for you? Dogs can be a blessing and in college you need a blessing.

In college, everyone needs a blessing, whether it’s is getting an A on a test you really did not study for or coming home to a little fur ball after a long and stressful day. Having a dog however is a huge responsibility, and I know what you might be thinking I sound like your parents. A dog in college, however, is very different than having one while you're growing up. Now you are the only one who is taking care of it, and dogs are not like cats, they need more attention.

Dogs are creatures that are much like babies, they need you. Fortunately, though, you need them as much as they need you in college. It is a very stressful time in your life, full of late nights and early mornings. With a dog around you, will have a companion to be by your side through the hard times and long hours. After those long nights have paid off and you earn that A, the one who will be the most excited will be your puppy waiting at the door.

Dogs have an intuition and they seem to know how you are feeling. Whenever you get sick in college, it seems like the worst thing ever because you do not have your parents there to take care of you. With a dog around, however, he will stay in your bed with you until you feel better. He will be there to snuggle with you and sleep by your side. Even if he cannot bring you soup (which would be the best trick ever) he will still help you feel better just by his presence.

Whenever you walk around campus with your little pup, he will be very popular. Every college student will flock to a dog that they see because they miss theirs at home, especially freshmen. This will also make your puppy happy because everyone will be giving him love, but of course you give him the most. Your pup will be the king of campus just like he was always meant to be.

Dogs in college are a great idea, but only if you are willing to put in the time and effort into taking care of them. Nothing is worse than having to get rid of your dog because you weren't able to take care of them. Take this responsibility seriously. A dog is a living creature who needs love and nurturing.

They need to be tended to and not neglected so if you do not think that you will be able to do this, then do not get a dog. If you are ready to get a dog when you move off campus, go for it because they are blessings and we all need blessings in this stressful time of our lives.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
