Being a dog mom is not as easy as everyone thinks. It’s all fun and games until you get woken up at the crack of dawn every morning and occasionally get humped. Who said being a dog mom doesn’t get you ready to be a mom? Here are some duties you should expect from being a dog mom:

1. Training your pup.
2. Feeding them.
3. Making sure they get a ton of exercise daily.
4. Taking care of them when they’re sick.
5. Ridiculous amounts of playing.
6. Cleaning their poop and other disgusting things I’d rather not say. Whether it’s inside or outside.
7. Taking them to the vet for their check-ups.
8. Always posing for a selfie. Yes, my dog is a model.
9. Doggy play dates! It’s a must.
10. Of course I take my dog to see Santa and the Easter Bunny (he doesn’t whine like a kid though).
11. Dressing them up for Halloween.
12. Taking them to the groomers at least once every two months.
Then, of course, like regular moms, there are many situations dog moms run into:
13. Canceling plans
Sorry, my dog desperately needs my attention I won’t be able to make it…
14. "How many times are you going to post pictures of your dog?"
Um, until I die.
15. Oh you don’t like me?
That’s okay because my pup loves me.
16. While everyone is exchanging photos of their children or their families.
*Shows a picture of dog* “Hey, here is my pride and joy!”
17. When someone asks, “When are you going to have kids?”
What do you mean? My life is crazy enough with my 15-pound, four legged, wet nosed child.
18. When you have to go to work and your dog just gives you those puppy eyes.
*Calls out of work*
19. Not being able to enter a shelter without wanting to adopt every dog in sight.
Always remember, ADOPT DON’T SHOP.
