Do Not Do Life Alone

Although At Times It Is What We Feel Is Best

Do Not Do Life Alone

Our lives are full of chaos, as well as active lifestyles, and sometimes we find ourselves drowning in our schedules. We may also find ourselves trying to attack all obstacles by ourselves, but honestly we can not do life alone. Now, I am not saying to go find yourself a significant other to tackle these obstacles with, I am saying to go find a relationship with God.

When trying to have a relationship with God we tend to try to do the whole "religion" without "relationship"

"Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused" Romans 1:21 NLT

We claim to know God, or believe in a higher power, but we tend to not see God as our Lord. To see God as our Lord we must follow His laws and commands. But instead, we develop our own view of what "religion" is and tend to just meet the bare minimum instead of investing our time into His faithfulness and love.

Speaking of laws and love, we tend to try to follow God's laws without actually experiencing His love.

"I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature.I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. " Romans 7:15,18-19

Following my previous comment of developing our own view of what religion is, we become intellectual with our relationship with God. We are aware that some things in which we desire may not be the right thing, but we do them anyways because it pleases us and not God; we need to commit to doing right despite what the personal conflicts may be.

Another thing that we find ourselves doing is trying to live for God instead of with God.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven—only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day, many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and in your name cast out demons and do many powerful deeds?’ Then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you. Go away from me, you lawbreakers!" Matthew 7:21-23

It is one thing to live a lifestyle that reflects God, aka doing "good deeds" but you are not actually living for God unless you are living with Him. In order for God to know you you must know him. It takes more than feeding the homeless and contributing to the community to live with God, although he does know your heart.

So how exactly must we not do life alone? Well, you need to fully surrender your life to God, and well as develop a relationship with Him. In order to surrender to God you do not have to be perfect; you can come just as you are. And always remember, God is either your Lord of all or not the Lord at all.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
