When you go to Disneyland you mostly see children, but I am 20 and love Disneyland. Some may call me a child at heart. Whether that is true or not, the point is Disneyland is my favorite place in the world. I would take Disneyland over a beach vacation any day.

Here is why…

1. The Disneyland Fireworks

The Disneyland fireworks show happens every night and it never ceases to amaze me. If you want to witness something truly magical, don’t miss out on seeing it.

2. The Disneyland Food

It is absolutely amazing. Can’t choose between a churro and a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar? The answer is to ALWAYS get both. Not to mention adding Dole Whip into the mix. The snacks are irresistible. With foods from many different cultures to your traditional Starbucks, you will find something to eat.

3. The Amazing Rides

The rides are so fun! I will tell you that I don’t personally like rides; I find them quite scary. Disneyland is different because the rides are still super fun because of the amazing theatrics put into each of them. From lighting and sound, to even putting smell into their rides, they are enjoyable, but still kid friendly. I love how for each ride, the employees have to act a certain way. For instance, in the Tower of Terror, they aren’t allowed to smile! I could go on the rides again and again and never get sick of them.

4. The Funny Pictures From The Rides

If you like the rides, you will LOVE the aftermath. Many rides take pictures of your reactions during certain parts of the ride. The result is absolutely hysterical. From wind blown hair to faces of complete horror, you will have a picture to keep forever.

5. The Disneyland Lights Show

The Disneyland lights show is the best around. It uses light and water and sound to create a spectacular show. Its' one of the most beautiful things you will ever see.

6. Disneyland Parade

The Disneyland parade is a blast as well. It is so fun to see everyone gather together and dance and sing along to their favorite Disney songs. Everyone is so happy, it is impossible to watch the parade without a huge smile on your face.

7. Disneyland Holidays

For the holidays, Disneyland always dresses up! My favorite is Halloween! The amount of work they put into making Disneyland beautiful and ready for the holidays always amazes me. For Christmas, they hang what has to be thousands of strands of Christmas lights and hundreds of trees. It is a beautiful sight.

8. Disney Characters

No matter what age you are, meeting the characters is always so much fun. You get to take fun pictures and they get to sign your book of signatures. You can’t help but get excited when meeting your favorite (mine being Winnie the pooh).

At the end of the day, your face will hurt from smiling so much, but it is the best feeling possible. You will leave feeling so happy after the magical day you just had. Between going on rides, meeting characters and eating delicious food you are bound to have the time of your life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
