Many college students grew up watching Disney movies, so it’s no wonder we have begun to take on some classic Disney sidekick behaviors. You will find it surprising how easy it is to relate to fictional animated characters.

1. White Rabbit from “Alice in Wonderland”

We all know the feeling of panic that rushes through your veins when you wake up approximately four minutes before your class starts. Just this morning, I found myself speed walking to class and debating if it was socially acceptable to run like White Rabbit or not.

2. Meeko from “Pocahontas”

College students can work up quite an appetite. Like us, Meeko does whatever he can to get as much free food as possible. While Meeko tends to steal his food, I'm thankful that we have an all-you-can-eat dining hall these days.

3. Tinkerbell from “Peter Pan”

Tinkerbell works that green dress better than I ever could. That being said, college students can relate to her self-confidence as she works her cute outfit. When you're getting ready to go out, you feel as fly as Tinkerbell.

4. Olaf from “Frozen”

It's hard to stay in shape in college. Here, Olaf's exclamation sounds a little too similar to how I do after hitting one of the gym's total body workout classes. The elevator becomes a necessity for the following 48 hours following the class.

5. Doug from “Up”

We always plan on staying focused when we start our homework. That 10-page paper due tomorrow will be done in no time. Then, all of the sudden, our phone lights up and we look like Doug the dog seeing a squirrel. Distraction is your worst enemy.

6. Pascal from “Tangled”

Pascal emulates the relationship you have with your best friend in college. You love them and will protect them like they are your siblings, just like this cute, but feisty, lizard.

7. Piglet from “Winnie the Pooh”

Piglet is in a constant state of worry. While his worries are more along the lines of Pooh's forest adventures, the average college student worries as much as he does. We have tests, quizzes, presentations, papers, projects... I'm stressing myself out just making my to-do list.

8. Timon and Pumba from “The Lion King”

As bad as it sounds, you reach a point in a project or paper where you've worked on it for so long that you don't even care about your grade. As long as it gets done, you have hakuna matata for the rest of your days (until your next assignment).

9. Sebastian from “The Little Mermaid”

This Sebastian face is a mirror of every college student's face as they watch their classes fill up during registration time. When the spots available in required classes are reading "0/18 spots remaining," your inner-Sebastian comes out.

10. Baymax from “Big Hero 6”

When Baymax runs low on battery power, he ends up acting a little crazy. His actions vaguely remind me of a drunk college student coming home after a long night out: stumbling around, not making it up the stairs, finding a cat and calling it a hairy baby, etc.

11. Dory from “Finding Nemo”

There are times when a professor hands me a test and I go blank immediately upon reading the first question. As hard as I try, I feel like Dory at that moment as I try my hardest to make an educated guess.

12. Sleepy from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”

Many college students feel just like Sleepy... sleepy. Late nights with hours of homework, late-night emotional talks with friends, and going out.

13. Joy from “Inside Out”

No matter how many of these Disney sidekicks you related to, your years in college will be some of the best years of your life. We should appreciate every day just like Joy does: with a bright smile and a freestyle dance.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
