15 Disney Quotes You Use In Everyday Conversation

If you’re a Disneyphile, then you probably reference Disney in some way at least once a day. Whether or not the person you’re talking to gets the reference, you slip it in -- but you only feel truly accomplished when someone pauses, squinting their eyes as they try to think up why the phrase sounds so familiar before finally acknowledging the movie you just quoted and diverting the conversation to your favorite topic: Disney. If you do this, these are probably the quotes you use:

1. "Can you feel the love tonight?"

My personal favorite, which you likely use whenever someone you know is in the midst of a fight with a family member or significant other. Is there a better way to break the tension? We think not!

2. "I’m surrounded by idiots."

Scar’s cynicism makes sense for once. Some people in this world just don’t have common sense.

3. "If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all."

But Thumper had a point too. Maybe people should keep those negative thoughts to themselves sometimes.

4. "Hakuna Matata."

You don’t need to be fluent in Swahili to make an impact using this one. Stressing about work, meetings, exams? Hakuna Matata!

5. "And at last I see the light!"

Have you ever had that moment when you leave a movie theater and -- BOOM -- sunlight? Or after driving through a tunnel you feel you’ll never escape (Lincoln Tunnel, anyone)? Times like these make us have those dramatic movie moments: Think Maria in “The Sound of Music,” twirling on the bright mountaintop.

6. "When will my reflection show who I am inside?"

Maybe you just can’t get your makeup on right, or you’re stressed and just can’t smile that day. Channel Mulan, and you won’t feel so alone.

7. "Pull the lever, Kronk."

No one has a friend named Kronk -- and let's face it, the "lever" will probably be a door -- but this quote is just too good to pass up.

8. "Wrong lever!"

The door says “Push,” not “Pull.”

9. "We are worms!"

Pain and Panic are the Ancient Grecian equivalent to college kids during finals week. Maybe our professors will cut us some slack if we grovel in their offices.

10. "I wanna be where the people are!"

While scrolling through Facebook when you should actually be writing that 10-page paper, you envy all your classmates who are out partying as if they have no responsibilities.

11. "Remember ..."

You or a friend can’t remember something important? Mufasa will guide you.

12. "Dishonor on you, dishonor on your cow!"

Every time a friend has an epic fail moment, this quote is guaranteed to make the situation even more amusing.

13. "You threw off my groove!"

Some people have no decency. How didn’t they see your awesomeness?

14. "Let it go!"

“Frozen” may be overrated now, but people used this phrase way before the movie. Now, we have an excuse to randomly break out into song, like “High School Musical.”

15. "Just keep swimming!"

Like Hakuna Matata, this quote is just as motivational. Don’t worry that your project is due in 12 hours, keep going -- you got this!

Disney is just so darn quotable. Future movies will probably pump out more material to expand this list. In the meantime, don’t be afraid to show your inner Disney nerd!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
