Exploring your mind can be one thing, but finding something you like and exploring that is something completely different. Getting into the arts sounds like a challenge to most, and many would say "I don't have the time" or "It's all talent." I beg to differ.
The arts have made me realize the true potential of the world's nature, and allowed me to explore what my mind can actually come up with given a certain amount of time. Experiencing art can be done a couple of different ways. Art has to be experienced through the senses, but once it is truly recognized by your mind, it is truly amazing. Perceiving art as something unique is key to allowing your mind explore the world around you. Our world is art, and we should regard it as an artistic creation with the sense that as inhabitants, we need to fill it with art. We do this by creating more works of art.
My journey into the arts began in high school, as some others may have discovered their own artistic sides to their personalities. At first, it was trying out and listening to different types of music, until I found the one that I most enjoyed. Then came art class, with its introduction into all different kinds of creations inspired by established artists. Believe it or not, this art class was introductory for a reason; it was supposed to enable me to explore my own talents and delve deeper into them. The next step in this phase was English class, where my enjoyment of reading and writing became readily available and at my own pace. I learned the many effects of poetry, literary fiction and true story accounts have given me a purpose to enable my talents as a writer and put it to good use.
This journey through my teens was unforeseen, and with my intentions before meeting certain people and learning new things, I wouldn't have thought that I would have explored any of my artistic abilities or interests. My personal journey through the arts has taught me a great deal about the world surrounding us and made me realize that art is not always based on talent. Instead, it can be based on a person's intellectual being and persistence to go beyond their limits. Anyone can realize that performing good on a test may prove you know something, but coming up with something completely new and applying it to the world is something truly different, and allows many artists to stand out in society.
