Regardless of one's political preferences and stance on Barack Obama's governance, no one can deny that Michelle Obama is one badass First Lady. From her life values to her motherly tenderness, to her fantastic sense of style, she instills class and kindness into the American people. Obama has raised two wonderful young women, Malia and Sasha Obama, with healthy body image and educational stances. She reminds us to go to the gym, that a fancy gown is just as good as a track suit, and that one does not have to be the president's wife to be classy. Obama's connection with her race and minorities is worth a standing ovation alone. While she always works to make the world a better place, she still finds time to visit the Oscars. I can continue for a while, as her hair alone deserves attention, but you get the point: she's a modern woman to look up to.
Therefore, when I found out that she would be deliver the commencement address during the 170th Commencement Ceremony at the City College of New York, I went through several stages of Michelle Obama myself.
Stage 1: Forgot to blink for a moment there. What?
Stage 2: Incredulity
Stage 3: Congrats CCNY! We're doing something right.
Stage 4: Dancing starts about now...
Stage 5: Still at it!
Stage 6: We're clearly the best CUNY school now!
Stage 7: It's as if the President was visiting, but even better!
Stage 8: Who run the world?
Stage 9: Because girls kick ass!
Stage 10: How do I look?
Stage 11: Time to brag!
