Our world is full of insanely different political opinions and none of them are "correct," but it is important to have your own. Your parents raised you, so it is important to be respectful of theirs, and others opinions Having and defending your own opinion develops your perception of the world and how you become the person you are today.
I was raised to follow my passion and to think for myself. Now, as an adult, one of the most important things I've done was form my own political opinion, which ended up being very different from my parents. But differences like this happen all of the time in the real world and it's good to understand early that you will come across people with different thoughts and beliefs throughout your life.
We have different opinions for countless reasons. Maybe it's because we were born in different decades or grew up with different values. There's nothing wrong with that, everyone sees the world differently and it's not something that you can control. So, learn to embrace the differences.
It is our right as American citizens to form a political opinion and it is our responsibility to vote once we turn 18. With your vote, you can put your words down and join America's political system, This will help expand your experience with the political system as well. You may think one person's opinion won't make a difference but it does.
Having a different opinion on politics is a good thing because you are able to discuss your reasoning behind your personal opinions. It gives you independence, responsibility and courage. Standing up to the people you care about most in the world is beneficial. You have to be able to express your feelings. A different political opinion, or a completely different outlook on life, gives you the power to stand up for what you believe in.
It isn't a good thing not to think for yourself and agree with everything someone else says. Instead, you should figure out your problems and be independent. This is the best way to help you grow up and to officially become an adult. Instead of copying the opinions of others, you should use their opinions to guide the way you base yours.
Your parents raised you for your entire life. They have been through much more than you, and you will never agree on everything. So, you may as well follow what you believe in and stand by it. Do not "go along" with your parents: think for yourself. It is pointless to disregard your own feelings toward a subject. Value the opinions of others and use them to strength your own.
