You know you have it.
Since May 6th I wanted to go back to Chapel Hill. The people, the town, the atmosphere, I missed it all. Now with only a month until move in, I have realized that Chapel Hill withdrawal is real. Very real. Here are twelve symptoms suggest that you have it too.
1. You and your friends have already planned your first nights back. The question is not whether or not you’ll go out, it's how will you make it to everywhere by the end of syllabus week.
2. You don’t count sheep to sleep, you count blue cups. One cup, two cup, three cup, four.
3. Every tbt on Instagram since getting out of school has been Chapel Hill related. Every single one.
4. Talking to your suite-mates or anyone in your dorm once every other week or so seems like an eternity. Maybe even two.
5. When you do talk to your friends from school, what you are going to do once everyone is back in Chapel Hill comes up at least once every five minutes.
6. You have a countdown on your phone till move in. Only 26 days, 10 hours and 30 minutes left.
7. You have considered driving hours just for one night in the thrill. And you have actually done it.
8. When you have some free time, looking through photos from the past year is first on your list of things to do.
9. You also feel inclined to turn on "Carolina in My Mind" while going down memory lane. A tear may shed.
10. You favorite any tweet with the words ‘tar heels,’ ‘UNC,’ ‘chapel hill,’ or ‘dook’ subconsciously.
11. You are actually okay with going back to class. Maybe even looking forward to it. I mean, if it means being back in Chapel Hill, it’s worth it.
12. When you are having a bad day, the only thing you can think of to really make you feel better is the old well and that Carolina blue sky.
I know you probably have done of these things, which means you are going through withdrawal too. That’s okay though since there is no real cure for it; because Chapel Hill is a place that’s gets in your blood and stays forever.
