After driving across the country for seven days, I’ve gotten to see some incredible places. I was asked to name a place that I adore. If you had asked me this a month ago, I probably would have said Boston. The first time I went to Boston last May, I fell in love. Having been raised on the west coast I felt deprived of all of the history the east coast had to offer. I was in a constant state of awe, especially when I went to Salem, Ma. But ever since the road trip to my new home in Philadelphia, the place that I want to say I adore has to go to Denver, Co. Even after driving through Utah and all of their pretty scenery, when we entered Colorado and I was speechless. Reminded me a lot of Oregon, there were mountains, tons and tons of greenery, and the water was a vivid blue. To put it simple, Colorado is stunning. It started snowing while driving through Vail, which I was kind of expecting, but was hoping wouldn't happen, but looking on the sides of the roads it looked like a winter wonderland...in October. While we were in Denver we drove out to Boulder to go on a hike and to capture some views.
Then we went downtown and walked around, mostly on sixteenth st., I guess that's where all the fun happens? There's a bar on every corner, and if it's not a bar it's either a coffee shop or a dispensary. Denver reminded me a lot of Portland, but they're still so very different. Like Portland is full of bridges, where in Denver it's not nearly as cluttered. Denver is such a cute city, and once you get passed the lack of oxygen in the air it's not so bad.
We were also quite close to the Coors stadium where the Rockies play, and as a baseball fan it was exciting to actually be there. On top of the cutesy esque to the city, and the fun townies, Denver has a lot to offer. I'm already coming up with a three to five year plan that include moving to Denver! Denvers got a piece of my heart.
