Democrats And Republicans, You Need To Read This

An ounce of opinion from a 21 year old conservative.

I have stayed quiet long enough and not put my opinion in on Facebook since the night of the election. I wasn't going to stir up more anger and hurt that people are feeling, but enough is enough. I'm done with it. I'm tired of hearing it and I'm beyond tired of reading it. For starters, yes I voted for Donald Trump. I'm a proud Republican and I believe in his plans and his dreams for our nation. I have been argued with, insulted, and put down because I have voiced my support for believing in our nominee at the time. I have been called a racist, uneducated, and downright disgusting for believing in someone who could say said such nasty things. Even now I am still getting remarks about my support for him and accepting who he is.

If you like it or not he is YOUR incoming president. On Friday, January 20th, 2017 he will be OUR new president. So everyone who's saying and hashtagging #notmypresident reality check... he is. The rest of the American public has spoken and voted for this man. Donald Trump and Mike Pence won by the voting system that we have had in our country for 227 years. He won fair and square with the Electoral vote. He turned our countries political game into his game like any smart businessman would have done. He found a way to make it work to his advantage. Regardless of who you voted for you need to read this.

I understand that many do not want to accept this change for our nation. Nobody thought that he could pull it off and everyone thought that she had it in the bag. But guess what. Donald Trump won. He is your president whether you want to accept it or not. You all have the right to protest but that is only if it's peacefully. But you do not have a right to throw tantrums and light the American flag on fire. A peaceful protest means a nonviolent resistance or nonviolent action, is the act of expressing disapproval through a statement or action without the use of violence. To say I am disgusted and fed up with my own society is an understand. The amount of disrespect that people have right now is nauseating. Some of you who disagree with him continue to sit there and say or write that #lovetrumpshate but what you're doing is inciting violence and hate towards our president-elect? Lighting things on fire, vandalizing, and smashing windows isn't going to change the situation! What has happened in Portland and Oakland is not what our constitution stands for. Nor is it what the first amendment is meant for. Man up, women up and hope for the best. Hoping for him to fail is hoping for our country to fail. What most need to do is wake up and realize that if Hillary Clinton would have won, Republicans and others who were against her wouldn't be in the streets throwing a temper tantrum.

We can all find a way to coexist in this country under the Trump administration. Bringing more hate and violence into our society isn’t going to fix the problems. So stop rioting, and disrespecting trump supports.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
