Whether it be in the mid-morning, or late afternoon, everyone loves a good snack. Being vegan doesn't mean that I have to eat foods that are any less delicious. I often reach for whole fruits or veggies like bananas, apple, carrots, and celery to snack on. While those are very satisfying and nutrient-filled, I sometimes crave something more. Here are some of my favorite vegan snacks that I hope you will enjoy, too!
Fruit Smoothies and Bowls
I have a few favorite smoothies that I'll have for a quick breakfast or as an afternoon treat. My go-to recipe is 1 banana, 5 frozen strawberries, a handful of fresh blueberries, about a cup of almond milk, rolled oats, and peanut butter to taste. It's absolutely delicious and very refreshing, especially with the coolness of the frozen fruit. An alternative to smoothies is smoothie bowls. They basically have the same base, except less almond milk to get a thicker consistency. The fun part about the bowls is that you can top them with whatever you like!
Avocado Toast
Avocado is nature's butter. I could definitely eat it plain, but it's more savory on a piece of toast. I like to spread either beans or hummus on a piece of toast, cut up pieces of avocado, and sprinkle it with some salsa verde to spice it up. This is very quick and easy to do, especially helpful if you're in a rush.
Dates and Pecans
I've discovered through eating different fruits and veggies, that the best way to satisfy my cravings for something sweet is dates. Dried dates may not look so delicious or sweet on the outside, but when paired with a couple of pecans, they make for a great dessert.
All of these are really easy with little to no prep time. I hope that you all try these out and enjoy!
