Truly living. Those two words alone have to the power to make you question your entire life up to this point. The word live is a verb; it is meant to be an action. We often forget that and remain “still.” God intended for us to experience the beautiful world that he created, not go our whole lives without ever enjoying anything. It becomes very easy throughout different stages of our lives to remain “still” and fall into a boring routine, which isn’t ever questioned.
We probably never discuss the concept of truly living because it means something different to all of us. Some people view having a full life as acquiring tons of money while others just simply seek to make strangers smile. This major difference in perspective is what causes an altered view of life. We were not put on this earth to just work for worldly treasures, but to honor our maker and show his love to everyone.
To truly live you must love those around you. This has become a thing of the past. Most people only look out for themselves and see no need in reaching out to others, but a life without others isn’t really a life. We were created by a loving maker, therefore inside each of us is this desire to love and be loved. When you invite others into your life that is when it finds meaning.
When you discover your purpose in life, that is when everything takes flight. You are no longer sitting “still,” but thriving the way God intended. It is at this point when you stop living just because and you begin to truly live. Sadly, many people will never reach this point in life because they are too blinded by worldly treasures, but if you do, hold on to it because it is honestly a beautiful thing
To live a full life — that is all most of us want, but somewhere in history the art of living became complicated. God didn’t design us to live a boring life on this wonderful and creative earth. This life we were given was meant to be full of adventure and love.
The challenge for you now is to reflect on your own life and contemplate whether you are truly living the life God intended for you.
