Why You Should Never Make A Decision Based On Other People's Opinions

Everyone has a different opinion on everything. These opinions can be an any kind of topic too. It can be about politics, sports teams, family issues, and pretty much everything you can imagine. Anything you can think of, there is probably someone who has a strong opinion on it. Dealing with these strong opinions coming at you from every angle can be really hard and stressful. This is because sometimes the people who have these differing strong opinions are our best friends and family. When everyone has a different opinion, you just want to make everyone happy and sometimes we think that if we make a certain decision, one person will be happy but the other person will be upset. However, you cannot let other people's opinions have an effect on the kind of decisions you make. If you like Donald Trump, support him with as much enthusiasm as you wish without being scared of your left wing friends being mad at you. And if you love Bernie Sanders, put a Bernie 2016 sticker on your car and do not worry about your conservative parents being upset with you. This is because in the end, you will only be happy if you support the things you are passionate about. And it is completely pointless to say you support something that you do not just because you will make someone else happy. Why does that matter? It does not.

Because the kind of decisions you make in your life in the end really affect you. And if you are not happy what is the point of those decisions? You made other people happy? Making other people happy can bring a lot of joy, but if you are not selfish every once in a while, you will just be angry at the world when you could have taken control of the situation a long time ago.

We also have this thing called a gut feeling. It is known to be one of the most accurate radars for what is right. We are always told to trust our gut, and as far as I am concerned, that is one of the golden rules. My gut is always right, whether I'm trying to decide what to order at my favorite restaurant or to tell if someone is BSing me. Other people do not think in the same way as you. That is what makes us all so different and is why when we work together we can come up with some great solutions to different problems. But, you need to always stay true to yourself and try not to let anyone sway you in a direction that goes against what you believe in and what you stand for. Always stay true to your morals and beliefs. You can be your own worst enemy in the case of making decisions. Your opinion is not stupid no matter what anyone tells you. Believe in what you believe and change the world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
