Dear Little

I promise to always hold your hand, and your hair.

Dear Little

Hey there Lil Bit,

I honestly couldn't be more excited to have you as part of my family. Ever since the day I met you I knew we were going to get along great. I mean, in some aspects, we're practically the same person! I just wanted to write you this letter to let you know how important I take my role as your big.

I have the best big in the whole world. She's fun, reliable, caring and an amazing person to look up to. I want to be that for you. Whenever you are feeling down or just want some company please know that my door is always open. I'm sorry for tricking you into thinking I wasn't going to be your big, but I feel like deep down you always knew we would end up together. I've loved getting you gifts and crafting for your room and once again, I'm sorry for eating the candy I got you, but crafting is hard work! You never need an invitation to join in on my plans; you are always welcome! No matter how much you think you might be annoying me, its never true. I love talking to you and you can always look to me for advice.

Please remember that boys can really suck sometimes and as bad as you think they are now, they will probably get worse throughout your college experience, but we're so young and we have so much time to find the right person. College is a time to meet life long friends and prepare for our futures. It's tough. Classes get really hard and sometimes you might think you won't be able to make it but, no matter what you're going through, things will always get better. You're going to trip along the way, but whatever path this crazy life takes us on, I know that it will be full of adventure, laughter, and lessons learned. You always have a friend in me, just like I know I'll always have a friend in you.

My final promise is that I'll always be here to hold your hand...and your hair!

XOXO, Your Big.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
