Everyone told me that I would find lifelong friendships when I started college. I was told that I would experience so much more than what the world had shown me so far and I would grow not only intellectually but socially as well. I believe this to be true with everything that I have in me. Without the friendships I've made, I wouldn't be the person I am today.
What everyone wants to say to their best friends, but haven't said.
1.Thank you for picking me up when I'm down.
I've fallen so many times, physically, emotionally, and when finals week comes, mentally. You have seen me cry over everything from a boy to not being able to come up with the last 50 words in an essay that is due in 20 minutes. You've really helped me keep my sanity.
2. You don't always have to say what you think.
But I appreciate it anyways. You've shared your opinion and even though I don't always listen it doesn't go without notice. I know you have my best interest in mind.
3. My dance moves are so much better when you're there to assist me.
Dancing just isn't as fun without you guys. Parties are so much more fun when you have someone to dance with that doesn't care what others think. We have fun together and that's all that really matters.
4. Thank you for not judging me.
Whether it be my bum of a wardrobe choice when the snow is taking over the world or when the humidity gets the best of my hair, you aren't embarrassed to go out in public with me. (It's very appreciated.)
5. If you mention eating something unhealthy, I'll do it too so you don't feel bad about it.
And vice versa. If you want that doughnut, there is a good chance I already saw it first and thought we should split it. Just say the word. Calories don't really matter today, I took the stairs to class.
College is the time of your life and without good friends it wouldn't be the same. I've learned so much from the friendships I've made and I can't wait to see what else life throws our way.
